Notifications
The Notifications page is used to configure where Bsure should send notification messages.
Currently, notifications are supported for Global Assessments. When an enabled Global Assessment becomes active, Bsure Insights can send a notification through the configured channel.
Enable notifications
Use the Enable Notifications toggle to turn notifications on or off globally.
When notifications are disabled, no assessment notifications are sent, even if Email or Teams has been configured.
When notifications are enabled, you can configure one or more notification channels.
Notification channels
Bsure currently supports the following notification channels:
Sends assessment notifications to a configured recipient email address.
Teams
Sends assessment notifications to a configured Microsoft Teams channel using a webhook URL.
Each channel can be configured and enabled separately.
Schedule
For each notification channel, you can configure when notifications should be sent.
The selected schedule time is shown in UTC, and the page also displays the corresponding local time.
Use this setting to control when Bsure sends assessment notification messages.
Email notifications
To configure email notifications:
Open the Email tab.
Select the time of day notifications should be sent.
Turn on the Email channel.
Click Configure Email.
Select the sender mailbox and recipient mailbox.
Generate and run the required PowerShell script.
Save the configuration.
Click Validate when the configuration is ready.
Sender email
The sender email is the mailbox Bsure is allowed to send notification emails from.
To limit access, Bsure does not request broad mailbox permissions. Instead, an Exchange Online role is created for the selected mailbox, allowing Bsure to send only from that specific address.
Recipient email
The recipient email is the mailbox that should receive the assessment notifications.
This can be an individual mailbox, shared mailbox, or distribution address, depending on how the organization wants to handle notifications.
Email sender script
When configuring email, Bsure generates a PowerShell script.
The script is used to create the required Exchange Online permission setup for the selected sender mailbox.
You can:
View the script
Copy the script to clipboard
Download the script
Open Azure Cloud Shell
The script must be run by a user with the required Exchange administrator permissions.
Email validation
After the script has been run, Bsure needs to validate that the sender configuration works correctly.
Validation may take some time because Exchange Online can require time to process new role assignments. In some cases, this may take from a few minutes up to a couple of hours.
When validation is completed successfully, email notifications can be sent.
Teams notifications
To configure Teams notifications:
Open the Teams tab.
Select the time of day notifications should be sent.
Turn on the Teams channel.
Enter the Teams channel webhook URL.
Click Save.
The webhook URL defines which Teams channel should receive the notifications.
Use Open setup guide if you need help creating or locating the Teams webhook URL.
Clear settings
Use Clear Settings to remove the saved configuration for a notification channel.
This can be useful if the sender, recipient, webhook, or schedule needs to be reset and configured again.
